Unemployment
Unemployment can be measured by the proportion of unemployed people and the number of jobseekers per job vacancy. In the long term, unemployment in the Olomouc Region had been above the average, but has reached approximately the national average in the last five years. Both the Olomouc District and the City of Olomouc were, in the past, among areas with lower unemployment within the region, but after 2009, unemployment in the city and the district alike has risen above the national average. Unemployment in the district and the city dropped below the national average in last six years, except a slight increase in 2020 and 2023 in the City of Olomouc.

Average wages are lower by far in the Olomouc Region compared to the national level. As for the Olomouc District, though well above the regional average, wages still remain below the national average.
